Spend The Holidays In Poop!
So the Unko Museum—Nagoya's poop-themed attraction—has a Christmas event. Of course it does. It runs through December 29, which means someone looked at the calendar, saw the holidays approaching, and thought:
"Christmas tree. But covered in tiny poops."
And here we are.

They're calling it Christmas Unko Party 2025. You walk in, you make your personalized poop at the "MY UNKO MAKER" station—this part hasn't changed—and then you carry it into the "Unko Volcano" room.
The volcano is the centerpiece of the museum. Normally it's a projection-mapped floor-to-ceiling installation where your custom poop erupts in a synchronized light show. You stand in the middle of the room and watch your creation explode across the walls in whatever colors and patterns you chose at the maker station. It's immersive, loud, with music.

For Christmas, they've kept all of that but added: poop-decorated Christmas trees rising up in the projection. Then the poop snow starts. Not regular snow—poop snow. It falls across the walls in slow motion, glittering like actual snowfall, catching the illumination-style lighting they've added for the season. The whole room sparkles. With poop. Before any of this happens, you're supposed to hold up your little poop creation—your "unpai"—and do a toast. That's the official start of the Christmas party. You toast with your poop. Then you watch it erupt. In a volcano. Decorated for Christmas. The poop snow keeps falling.
There's a Christmas tree in the museum decorated with miniature poops and present boxes. Staff will help you take photos in front of it. The neon wall with poop phrases in multiple languages is still there as a main photo spot, also Christmas-themed.
Two of the signature rooms—the "Love Poop Room" and the "Puri-t Princess" room—have been redecorated for the season. The details are vague, but the vibe is: more Christmas, same poop.
If you're into it, there's limited merch: Christmas poop stickers (¥350), capsule-toy keychains (¥500), and a ¥5,000 mystery "Christmas Unko Party Set" that contains about ¥7,000 worth of goods in a limited shopper bag.
All of this will sell out or it won't.
Is this for you? Maybe. It's indoors, which matters in December—especially if you've already done the Nagoya Christmas Market. Kids think poop is hilarious. Couples looking for deeply specific Instagram content will find it here. It's not trying to be anything other than exactly what it is, which is—honestly—sort of refreshing.
It exists. It's happening. You can go or you can not go. Either way, somewhere in Nagoya right now, there's a Christmas tree covered in tiny poops, and someone's taking a photo in front of it. This is what December looks like now.
