The Nagoya.Tech Open Mic is back at STAR ROBOX on Saturday, Feb 28—a robotics warehouse near Horita Station that doubles as a café, wine bar and event space. This time it's a Saturday, not the usual Friday. Capacity is 50 people, and they're pushing the restaurant tables into the warehouse to fit more bodies.
The Crowd
Engineers, founders, designers, students, people who build things. Some bring laptops. Some bring slides. Most just show up to hear what others are working on.
The Open Mic
Talks are short. Embedded systems, robotics, business ideas... the crushing feeling that we are merging with a sentient Ai that just wants us to pay it taxes... etc.
The Hang
After the Open Mic everyone will hang out and just drift. For those participating keep decks under 12 slides and under 10 minutes. Personal stories from the trenches work better than polish. Japanese or English, it doesn't matter. Ideas are the idea.

Nicholas, the resident wine-tech brain, curates an optional bottomless wine setup for ¥3,000. Draft beer and other drinks are available at the bar. If food runs out, there's a konbini down the street.
There's no entry fee. No pressure. You can listen, talk, or watch someone explain bots creating social networks where they speak languages humans can't understand while you ball up in a corner and sip a beer. It's fun!
STAR ROBOX is just a few blocks from the Brother Museum, which is also worth a visit. If you're new to this crowd, you can chill. The Nagoya.Tech events work because nobody is trying to make them "work."
If you're curious, just go!
