That mixed feeling you sense in the air is the creeping pull of summer, veiled in sunlight but wrapped in a thick blanket of humidity. You can push against it all you want, but it will win by turning you into a fetid mop of sweaty hair as it whispers into your ear, growling....PULLSH!
After a year of obsessively documenting the beautiful chaos that is the NAG, we’ve somehow racked up 400+ subscribers (and yes—we checked: at least 37 of them aren’t even related to us!).
And here’s a fact: your tips keep us going. When you tell us about that underground salsa/Indian restaurant or that hole-in-the-wall izakaya decorated with photos of bears, our newslettery hearts skip a beat.
Nagoya's international, commingled, codependent, gloriously complicated community is an ecosystem that thrives on diversity. It also needs people to share what is happening here, and we want to help.
So keep feeding our fixation. Send it all—even the guy who dresses like Elvis and rides his bike through Imaike, singing like he’s The King… which, frankly... he is.
Especially him.
